Telegram bot binding: create the bot, connect to Starchild, verify, troubleshoot. Use when setting up Telegram delivery (e.g. add my TG bot, bot binding code, fix "telegram not pushing", whitelist a TG username).
Telegram Bot Binding is a step-by-step guide for connecting a personal Telegram bot to the Starchild platform so a user can interact with their AI agent directly inside Telegram. It applies when setting up Telegram delivery, entering a bot binding code, whitelisting a Telegram username, or fixing a bot that is not pushing messages, and it instructs the assistant to always respond in the user's language.
Binding has three main steps. First, create a bot through Telegram's official BotFather using the newbot command, choosing a display name and a username that ends in bot; BotFather returns a bot token that must be kept private. Second, add that token in the Starchild Dashboard via the avatar at the bottom-left, under Account Management's Telegram Bot section; the system verifies the token against Telegram's getMe API, generates a six-digit code valid for five minutes, and sets the bot to a pending state. Third, verify ownership either through a deep link that auto-submits the code (a t.me start link with verify_CODE) or by manually sending start and typing the code. Once verified the bot moves from active to running.
A status reference (pending, active, running, deleted) and an extensive troubleshooting section cover expired codes (refresh from the dashboard), too many failed attempts (five wrong tries invalidates the code), tokens already registered to another account, the one-active-bot-per-account limit, and the one-hour cooldown after deleting a bot. Important operational notes include AES-256 encryption of the token at rest, that it is never exposed in API responses, and rate limits of three requests per minute for adding a bot or refreshing codes.
In Telegram, open BotFather, send the newbot command, and provide a display name and a username ending in bot; BotFather returns a private bot token.
In the Starchild Dashboard, click the avatar at the bottom-left, open Account Management, find the Telegram Bot section, and paste the token.
The six-digit code is valid for five minutes; if it expires, use Refresh Code on the dashboard to generate a new one.
pending means awaiting verification, active means ownership is verified and transitioning, running means the bot is live, and deleted means it was removed.
Each account allows one active bot, and there is a one-hour cooldown after deleting a bot before you can add a new one.
