Photoshop

Enables a coding agent to operate Adobe Photoshop on the desktop through Flue, a local shell-to-application bridge, without requiring an MCP server. The agent pipes ExtendScript into photoshop_bridge.py and receives structured JSON back, following the flow: agent shell -> photoshop_bridge.py -> ExtendScript -> JSON result. This lets a command-line agent inspect and edit an open Photoshop document even though a CLI cannot otherwise act inside the application.

Use it when the human asks for work performed inside Photoshop, such as inspecting the open document, its layers, or the current selection, making bounded edits, or running small ExtendScript steps. The recommended procedure is to read FLUE.md in the skill directory first, since it explains how Flue works, the bridge contract, a worked ExtendScript example, and the safety expectations. If Flue is installed, the agent should also read the flue SKILL.md and the Photoshop adapter's APP.md for the operational contract before working from there. If Flue is not installed, the agent should tell the human; the install command is pip install flue followed by flue setup, and installation should not happen without explicit approval in the current session.

Flue is not limited to Photoshop. Through the same stdin/stdout contract it also supports Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, InDesign, Audition, Blender, Houdini, 3ds Max, Unity, and Microsoft Office, and a single install covers all adapters. Because Flue acts inside professional desktop software, the guidance stresses treating the human as the driver, preferring small inspectable steps, and avoiding destructive actions unless explicitly requested. Flue is MIT-licensed and reviewable on GitHub and PyPI before use.
