Illustrator

Lets a coding agent operate Adobe Illustrator on the desktop through Flue, a local shell-to-application bridge, without requiring an MCP server. The agent pipes ExtendScript into illustrator_bridge.py and receives structured JSON back, following the path: agent shell to illustrator_bridge.py to ExtendScript to JSON result. It is intended for work that must happen inside Illustrator — inspecting the open document, artboards, layers, paths, and selection, making bounded edits, or running small ExtendScript steps — since a CLI agent cannot act inside Illustrator without such a bridge.

The recommended procedure is to read FLUE.md in the skill directory first, which explains how Flue works, the bridge contract, a worked ExtendScript example, and safety expectations. If Flue is installed, the agent should additionally read the main Flue SKILL.md and the Illustrator adapter's APP.md for the operational contract before working from there. If Flue is not installed, the agent should tell the human; the install command is pip install flue followed by flue setup, and installation should not happen without explicit approval in the current session.

Beyond Illustrator, the same stdin/stdout contract and a single Flue install also cover Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, InDesign, Audition, Blender, Houdini, 3ds Max, Unity, and Microsoft Office. Safety guidance frames the human as the driver: prefer small, inspectable steps and avoid destructive actions unless explicitly requested. Flue is MIT-licensed and reviewable on GitHub and PyPI before use. The skill itself is thin — a routing and setup layer that defers operational detail to FLUE.md, the Flue SKILL.md, and the adapter's APP.md.
