parking-lot-search

Use when the user asks for nearby parking lots or 근처 주차장/공영주차장. Always ask the user's current location first, then use official Data.go.kr public parking data through k-skill-proxy or the parking-lot-search package.

About parking-lot-search

Parking-lot-search finds nearby public parking lots in South Korea based on a location the user provides, using official Data.go.kr public parking data. It is triggered when a user asks for nearby parking lots or for 근처 주차장 or 공영주차장, and by default it shows only public (공영) parking. A strict rule governs the flow: it never guesses or auto-infers the user's location and must always ask for the current location first, accepting a neighborhood, station name, landmark, or latitude and longitude. If the location is ambiguous it asks once more for a nearby station or dong name.

The data comes from the official nationwide standard parking dataset (전국주차장정보표준데이터) Open API. The workflow resolves the user's location string into coordinates using a Kakao Map anchor search, builds a city and district address hint from the anchor address, and then queries official parking data either through the k-skill-proxy endpoint /v1/parking-lots/search or the parking-lot-search package, ordering results by distance. It typically returns three to five nearby lots along with map links. Because real-time occupancy, remaining spaces, and reservation availability are not present in the standard dataset, the skill must not state them as certain and clarifies when needed that figures are not live status.

Responses are kept short and usually include the parking lot name, distance, public or private and on-street, off-street, or attached type, address, operating days and hours, fee information with base and additional charges, number of parking spaces, phone number and managing agency, the data reference date, and a map link. A Node.js example demonstrates searchNearbyParkingLotsByLocationQuery with limit and radius options. The doc also records that although integration with 모두의주차장 was raised in an issue, v1 starts from official public data only, and no unofficial API calls or scraping of 모두의주차장 are performed until an approved official or partner API agreement is confirmed. The skill is considered done once it has confirmed the user's location, found at least one lot from official data or explained why not, limited results to three to five, and clarified the non-real-time nature of availability when relevant.

FAQ

What is the first thing this skill always does?

It always asks for the user's current location before searching, since it never auto-infers location. It accepts a neighborhood, station name, landmark, or latitude and longitude, and asks again if the location is ambiguous.

What data source does it use?

The official Data.go.kr nationwide standard parking dataset (전국주차장정보표준데이터) Open API, accessed via the k-skill-proxy endpoint /v1/parking-lots/search or the parking-lot-search package.

Does it show real-time availability or reservations?

No. Real-time occupancy, remaining spaces, and reservation availability are not in the standard dataset, so it does not state them as certain and clarifies when needed that the information is not live status.

Does it include private parking lots by default?

No. By default it shows only public (공영) parking lots, though it can indicate the public or private and on-street, off-street, or attached type in results.

How does it turn a place name into results?

It resolves the location string into coordinates using a Kakao Map anchor search, builds a city and district address hint, queries the official parking data ordered by distance, and usually returns three to five lots with map links.
