kbl-results

A read-only lookup skill for Korean professional basketball (KBL, 한국프로농구) that retrieves game schedules and results by date and team, and reports current team standings. It is built around the official KBL JSON endpoints and the kbl-results npm package, and is intended for requests such as "today's KBL results," a specific team's game on a given date, or the current team rankings. The skill is query-only and does not perform any writes.

Prerequisites are Node.js 18 or newer and the globally installed kbl-results package. The workflow first checks whether kbl-results exists under the global npm root and, if missing, installs it globally rather than falling back to HTML scraping. It then fetches the official KBL JSON surfaces — the match list at api.kbl.or.kr/match/list for schedules and results, and the team rank endpoint at api.kbl.or.kr/league/rank/team for standings — by dynamically importing the package's entry module and calling getKBLSummary with a date and options such as a team filter and includeStandings. Inputs are a date in YYYY-MM-DD format plus an optional team name, full name, or team code (for example Seoul SK, Busan KCC, or code 55).

After fetching, raw JSON is normalized for humans rather than dumped directly: home versus away team, game time, finished or live status, score, current standings, and a filter to only the requested team's games when one is specified. Answers are kept compact — a one-line per-game summary for scoreboard requests, or just the requested team's game and current rank for team-specific requests. Documented failure modes include the package needing updates if KBL changes its api.kbl.or.kr response structure, pre-game dates returning scheduled status instead of results, and crawling fallback being considered only when the official JSON is blocked. Relative requests like "today" or "yesterday" are always converted to absolute YYYY-MM-DD dates before execution.
