This skill provides a simple way to create, delete, update, and organize tasks within Google’s task management system, allowing users to keep track of both personal and team tasks seamlessly. Whether you need to clear completed tasks or move tasks between lists, this skill helps automate those processes, offering more control over task management in Google’s ecosystem.

Additionally, tasks can be marked as 'hidden' when completed, simplifying task retrieval.

Its capability to manage large volumes of tasks and integrate with other Google services makes it particularly useful for users who need to streamline their workflow or automate their task management process. Whether you’re handling simple personal to-do lists or complex collaborative project management, this skill enhances productivity by simplifying task organization and maintenance.

FAQ

How do I delete a task or task list?

To delete a task or task list, use the 'delete' method. For task lists, all assigned tasks within the list will also be deleted. For individual tasks, if they are assigned, both the assigned task and the original task in Docs or Chat Spaces will be deleted.

What happens when I clear completed tasks from a task list?

When you clear completed tasks, they are marked as 'hidden' and will no longer be returned by default when retrieving tasks. This helps keep your task list organized while still retaining the information for future reference.

Are there any limitations on the number of tasks or task lists?

Yes, a user can have up to 2,000 task lists and 100,000 tasks in total. Each task list can hold up to 20,000 non-hidden tasks at a time.

Can I manage tasks that are assigned from Docs or Chat Spaces?

While tasks assigned from Docs or Chat Spaces can be viewed, they cannot be inserted through the Tasks API. You must manage these tasks directly through the Docs or Chat Spaces interface.

What are the prerequisites for using the gws-tasks skill?

Before using gws-tasks, you must read the 'gws-shared/SKILL.md' document for authentication, global flags, and security rules. If you haven't set up the skill, run 'gws generate-skills' to create the necessary configuration.
