About building-ui-bundle-app
An orchestration skill for building a complete, deployable Salesforce React UI bundle application from a natural-language description. Rather than implementing everything itself, it coordinates a set of specialized UI bundle skills in the correct dependency order, requiring each to be explicitly loaded before its phase runs. It activates for requests to build, create, or generate a React app, web application, SPA, or full-stack app on Salesforce, particularly when the project contains a uiBundles/*/src/ directory or sfdx-project.json, or when a task spans more than one ui-bundle skill.
The build proceeds through defined phases: scaffolding the bundle (via `sf template generate ui-bundle`), installing dependencies, generating bundle metadata and optional CSP Trusted Sites, installing optional pre-built features (auth, shadcn, search, navigation, GraphQL) with two-pass conflict resolution, wiring data access using `@salesforce/sdk-data` (GraphQL preferred for records, REST for Connect/Apex/UI API), and building the React UI with layout, pages, and components. Optional integrations cover an Agentforce chat widget and a file upload API, and these can run in parallel when both are needed. Deployment follows a canonical seven-step sequence that includes org authentication, a pre-deploy build, metadata deployment, post-deploy configuration, optional data import, and a re-fetch of the GraphQL schema from the deployed org before a final rebuild.
It is meant for end-to-end app creation, not narrow work: single-page or component edits should use building-ui-bundle-frontend, feature-only installs use generating-ui-bundle-features, and data-only setup uses using-ui-bundle-salesforce-data. Lightning Experience apps with custom objects are explicitly out of scope and belong to generating-lightning-app. The skill begins with requirements analysis to identify the app name, pages, navigation, data entities, feature needs, and hosting target, then emits a build plan and a skill load order. Finally, it selects one hosting target: an Experience Site for external audiences (generating-ui-bundle-site) or a Custom Application in the Lightning App Launcher for internal users (generating-ui-bundle-custom-app).
FAQ
When does this skill activate?
It activates when a user wants to build, create, or generate a React app, web app, or SPA on Salesforce, when the project has a uiBundles/*/src/ directory or sfdx-project.json, or when a task spans more than one ui-bundle skill.
When should I NOT use it?
Do not use it for single-page or component edits (use building-ui-bundle-frontend), feature-only installs, data-only setup, deploy-only tasks, debugging an existing bundle, or Lightning Experience apps with custom objects (use generating-lightning-app).
How is the application scaffolded?
Scaffolding uses `sf template generate ui-bundle`, after which dependencies are installed and bundle metadata (uibundle-meta.xml, ui-bundle.json) plus optional CSP Trusted Sites are generated as the foundation for all later phases.
How does the skill handle data access?
It sets up the data layer with `@salesforce/sdk-data`, acquiring the GraphQL schema, looking up entity schema, and generating queries and mutations with verified field names; GraphQL is preferred for record operations and REST for Connect, Apex, or UI API endpoints.
What hosting targets are supported?
Exactly one of two: an Experience Site (Digital Experience) for external users via generating-ui-bundle-site, or a Custom Application in the Lightning App Launcher for internal users via generating-ui-bundle-custom-app.
