About everything-claude-code-harness

Everything Claude Code (ECC) is a production-ready performance optimization system designed to enhance AI coding agents like Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, OpenCode, and Antigravity. It addresses the challenge of maximizing AI agent productivity by providing a comprehensive harness that includes specialized subagents, reusable skills, custom slash commands, memory-persisting hooks, security scanning, and language-specific rules. Evolved from over 10 months of real-world daily use, ECC transforms basic AI coding assistants into powerful, context-aware development partners.

The system offers a rich set of features organized into modular components: specialized subagents for planning and architecture, dozens of slash commands for common workflows, lifecycle hooks that maintain context across sessions, security scanning tools, and carefully crafted rules for TypeScript, Python, Go, and Swift. Key capabilities include research-first development workflows, multi-agent orchestration for complex tasks, PM2 process management integration, quality gates, and intelligent model routing. The hook system provides runtime controls for strictness profiles, allowing developers to balance guidance with flexibility.

ECC is ideal for professional developers and teams who rely on AI coding assistants for production work. It's particularly valuable for those working on complex codebases requiring architectural planning, security-conscious applications needing automated scanning, projects with specific language conventions, and teams wanting to standardize AI agent behavior across members. Whether you're building a multi-tenant SaaS platform, implementing OAuth flows, or simply want your AI assistant to remember context between sessions, ECC provides the infrastructure to make AI-assisted development more reliable and productive.

FAQ

Which AI coding tools does ECC support?

ECC works with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, OpenCode, and Antigravity. It's designed as a universal harness system that can enhance any compatible AI coding agent.

Do I need to install language rules separately?

Yes, rules must be installed manually after plugin installation. Claude Code plugins cannot auto-distribute rules due to platform limitations. Use the install.sh script or manually copy rules from the rules/ directory to your project's .claude/rules/ directory.

What programming languages are supported?

ECC includes specialized rules for TypeScript, Python, Go (Golang), and Swift, plus language-agnostic common rules. You can install rules for single or multiple languages based on your project needs.

Can I control how strict the hooks are?

Yes, ECC provides runtime control through the ECC_HOOK_PROFILE environment variable with three levels: minimal (least intrusive), standard (default), and strict (maximum enforcement). You can also disable specific hooks individually.

What's the difference between plugin marketplace and manual installation?

Marketplace installation uses Claude Code's plugin system and requires the namespace prefix (everything-claude-code:command). Manual installation via git clone allows shorter command names without the prefix. Both methods require separate rule installation via install.sh.
