wiki-switch
Switch between multiple Obsidian wiki vault profiles. Use this skill when the user says "/wiki-switch NAME", "switch to my work wiki", "switch vault", "change wiki", "which wiki am I on", "list my wikis", "show my vaults", "create a new vault config", or "add a new wiki profile". The skill manages named config files at ~/.obsidian-wiki/config.NAME and activates one by symlinking it to ~/.obsidian-wiki/config.

About wiki-switch
Wiki Switch manages multiple Obsidian vault profiles for the LLM-wiki system. Each vault is a complete config file stored at ~/.obsidian-wiki/config.<name>, and the active vault is whichever file the ~/.obsidian-wiki/config symlink points to. The skill solves the problem of juggling several vaults (for example personal and work) by letting the user list, show, create, and switch between named profiles, and by clarifying the difference between changing the persistent default and using an inline @name override that targets a different vault for a single request without re-pointing the symlink.
The skill routes an invocation to one of a few small actions. Switch verifies the named config exists and re-points the symlink with ln -sf, then confirms the active vault path. List enumerates config.* files, resolves the current symlink target with readlink, and marks the active profile. Show prints a config file's contents but redacts any line containing API_KEY or SECRET, displaying *** instead of the value. New scaffolds a fresh config by copying the active one, then prompts only for vault-specific fields while preserving shared fields and asking about secrets, and deliberately does not auto-activate the new profile.
It targets Obsidian power users who run the companion wiki skills across more than one vault. Operationally it only manipulates local configuration files in the user's home directory using standard, safe shell commands (symlink, copy, readlink), and it is explicitly security-conscious about not printing credentials, so it is a benign local configuration-management helper.
FAQ
How do I switch vaults?
Run /wiki-switch <name>, or say things like 'switch to my work wiki' or 'change wiki'. It re-points the ~/.obsidian-wiki/config symlink to the named config and confirms the new vault path.
What is the difference between switching and the @name override?
Switching changes your persistent default by re-pointing the symlink for all future requests. The inline @name override targets a different vault for just one request and never re-points the symlink; it is handled by the shared Config Resolution Protocol, not this skill.
How do I add a new vault?
Use /wiki-switch new <name>, which copies the active config as a template, asks you for the vault-specific values while keeping shared fields, and does not auto-activate — you activate it later with /wiki-switch <name>.
Does showing a config expose my secrets?
No. The Show action prints config contents but redacts any line containing API_KEY or SECRET, replacing the value with ***.
What happens if a vault name does not exist?
It tells you the vault does not exist and lists the available profiles so you can pick a valid one.
