About call-prep
Call Prep assembles a complete pre-meeting briefing for sales calls, pulling together account context, attendee research, and a suggested agenda so a rep can walk into any conversation prepared in minutes. It is designed to work standalone: at minimum it needs the company or contact name and the meeting type (discovery, demo, negotiation, check-in, and similar), optionally enriched with attendee names and titles or notes pasted into the conversation. From there it runs web searches for recent news, funding announcements, leadership changes, and industry trends, and researches attendee LinkedIn profiles to build background on the people in the room.
The skill becomes significantly more useful when sales tools are connected. A CRM connector adds account details, contact history, open opportunities, and recent activities; email surfaces recent threads, open questions, and prior commitments; chat such as Slack brings in internal discussions and colleague insights; transcripts recover key moments and objections from earlier calls; and a calendar connector can auto-find the meeting and pull its attendees and description. When connectors are present it gathers this context automatically and skips the intake questions; when they are absent it asks for what it needs and works with whatever is provided.
Output is a structured Markdown brief covering an account snapshot, a per-attendee profile with role-in-deal and a personal talking point, context and history, recent news, a meeting-type-tailored agenda, discovery questions, and a table of likely objections with suggested responses. Agenda emphasis shifts by meeting type, with discovery weighting questions over talking and QBRs focusing on delivered value and expansion. It is intended to be used before a call, then handed off to the companion call-follow-up skill afterward to capture action items, update the CRM, and draft a follow-up email.
FAQ
What does the skill require to run?
At minimum the company or contact name and the meeting type. Attendee names, titles, and any pasted notes are helpful but optional, and the skill researches the rest via web search.
Does it work without connecting any tools?
Yes. It works standalone using your input plus web research. Connectors such as CRM, email, chat, transcripts, and calendar are optional and make the prep richer by adding account history and prior-interaction context.
Which connectors does it support and what do they add?
CRM adds account details and open deals, email adds recent threads and commitments, chat adds internal discussions, transcripts add prior-call moments and objections, and calendar can auto-find the meeting and pull attendees.
How do I trigger it?
Use phrases like "prep me for my call with [company]", "I'm meeting with [company] prep me", "call prep [company]", or "get me ready for [meeting]".
What should I do after the call?
Run the related call-follow-up skill, which extracts action items, updates your CRM, and drafts a follow-up email. Related skills also include account-research and draft-outreach.
